to draw irregular curved walls

Anonymous
Not applicable

is it possible to draw curved walls? i don't mean regular ones like portions of circles. arcs which have grip points and could be unsymmetrical somehow.

and then is it possible to draw the roof in the same way?

I'm learning ACA and to me it seems you can just draw cubical stuff. is that correct?

Accepted solution

Draw a curved line, right click the wall tool on the tool palette and select "apply to linework".

P.s. you can create roof by extrusion, so they can be pretty much any shape you want.

As the WallToolToLinework prompt indicates, you are limited to converting lines, arcs, circles, and polylines into Walls.  Splines or true ellipses are not an option.  You will need to approximate your irregular curve with a series of tangent arcs.

If you are looking for an elliptical curve, one thing you can do is set the PELLIPSE system variable to 1.  After doing so, the ELLIPSE command will generate a Polyline approximation of the specified ellipse, composed of tangent arcs, which can be converted to Walls.
