Text drawing itself on layer other than current...

This is blowing my mind! Lets say my current layer is "A-Wall-New". When I draw a line, it is on "A-Wall-New". I immediately then draw a dimension for that line, and it draws on layer "A-Anno-Note". My current layer is still "A-Wall-New".

I went through a bunch of other current layers, and the dimension always ends up on "A-Anno-Note". I can change the dimension layer after it's drawn, but that got old quick. Anyone run into this before?

Are you using plain autocad or autocad architecture?

Have any lisp routines running?

What is dimlayer set to?

Are you using tool palettes or the ribbon to dimension?

Are you using AutoCAD dimensions or AEC dimensions?

What is your layering standard?  (See units command).

DIMLAYER variable?

AutoCAD Architecture predetermines/sets layers for you if you are in the ARCH profile and using all the AEC tools. Are you not aware of that or new to ARCH versions? It's not plain AutoCAD, these AEC objects are pre-sorted.

It was the dimlayer setting, thank you!

It was the dimlayer setting, yes thank you. I've only been working with Autocad Architecture for about 7 months, but never ran into that before. I must have somehow changed it on accident. Thanks!
