Stuck in RefEdit after losing network connection

AutoCAD Architecture 2020.  Settings migrated from 2019.  Win10pro.

This the second time I've had the issue happen to me a couple of times now (same drawing no audit errors) and I'm not sure if it's a general AutoCAD issue or if it's specific to Architecture.  I'm not getting any error messages, specific to the issue but I cannot save and exit my drawing as a result of the glitch.

I'm working on a drawing where i need to be able to edit a block and see the background while I edit the block, which is why I'm using refedit.  Both times it has happened, I walked away from my desk, and did not "save changes" and exiting out of refedit before I left.  When I came back, I resumed working on the drawing and when i click on save changes (or manually refclose/save), the program acts as if it saved as usual.  However, when trying to save/close the main file, it tells me that "_QSAVE ** QSAVE command not allowerd during reference editing **"  Which tells me that it's still in the reference editor.

To try and save my work, I've tried other functions which are not allowed: saveas, copy to clipboard, cut/paste, refclose.  I cannot close out of the drawing at this point and have to end the program through my task manager.  Has anyone else had this issue?

The only thing I can think of, and I've changed my PC settings as of this last time, is that when I left my desk, my computer was set to sleep mode and lost connection to our server.

REFCLOSE is the command to close out of refedit, does that work?
Is 2019 fully patched and updated? Look it up in ABOUT command.

Refclose brings up a secondary menu asking to save or discard changes.  No joy there.  Same result.  My autodesk desktop app tells me i'm up to date.

I gave up and closed the drawing and lost this morning's work.

You might want to turn off sleepmode then if none of these tips help https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/autocad/troubleshooting/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/AutoCA...

Or reset 2020 to remove the 2019 migrated content and see if that helps (my setup is without the migration and I am not seeing the issue so far).

This isn’t really a solution but I’ve had problems with Autocad 2017-2019 installed on a Lenovo laptop.  I had to turn off sleep and hibernate modes. I still believe this is an Autocad not Lenovo bug probably related to licensing.
