Section/Elevation Style hatch problem

hi

Using ACA 2018

I have 10 years experience with vanilla Autocad but I'm new to ACA.

my biggest challenge is to understand how the Display System and Styling are working.

as I understand,

the Display Representation system carries the default way object is displayed.

if I want to customize it I either change the representation settings or override it with styles, correct til now?

section/elevation style is a bit different, it's working a bit like a CTB where I have to find the source color and remap it to the color that I want. but what about unique hatches?

in this example, I have 2 types of walls, a wall with solid hatch color 140 (blue) and wall with solid hatch color 11(red),

in the section, i want to represent those walls the same as in the plan,

how can I do it?

Thanks

Shay

I have the same issue sometimes earlier.I wanted to make   wall's elements make with different solid hatches.  But It only possible to assigne  only one  solid hatch  per one section  and( any other NOT SOLID  by element that overlays solid  hatch)222.JPG

These suggestions may or may not help.

1)Using different shrink-wrap colors for each wall isn't probably going to be managable if you expect consistent display performance with different view directions.  Consider using the material system and turn off the shrink wrap hatch in the section elevation style. (Copy and create a new style. Don't modify the OOTB styles.)

2)The section/elevation system is designed for 2 applications, each of which is set up OOTB for simplicity not power. Customizing the section/elevation system is extremely challenging and requires the addition of rules to add control to the display system. You added some rules that added components rather than controlling how the built-in components display.  Adding components only works if you edit the section results I believe. Then you can select linework and assign it to a component.

a)Small scale sections that can host callouts and have good graphic positive/negative space contrast. There are no per-wall style controls.

b)Detail sections that serve as a non-plottable background for the impressive detailing system.

3)If you expect differentiation by wall style, then consider live sections or edit the section results to manually differentiate.  This works better if the materials are not all Standard.

But I think it will works only for  live section,I meant solid hatch with different colors for different wall style.Section/ elevation rools  didn't work for hatches  BUT only  for lines. May be I wrong if you know how to do it  I willl  be wery appreciate for sharing your  skills.

That's true. But you can simulate solid hatch by using a close spacing so the AutoCAD quirk here doesn't limit the look of your plots. Of course, I never plot construction documentation in color, except for renderings, so pattern is the only thing I care about.  If I want solid black or grey, then the shrink wrap works.
