Same project file used by two users

I know there was really no way for two people to work on the same drawing as I'm coming from autocad. Now my company is using autocad architecture 2017. Checking out the way projects are set up, a lot of the drawings are set up as separate dwg files and are saved separately in the project browser. Would this allow 2 users to actually work on the same project at one time? Is there another way that has been added recently? I'm sure this is a common question.

The cad team is basically just me and 1 other guy sitting near each other. If we were both working on the same project and we verbally made sure we didn't have the same thing open in the project browser at once and saved and closed it when finished, it seems like it would work. Am I dreaming and looking for trouble? HA!

Thanks

If you don't mind me asking: since there is only two of you, why not experiment with a project you create for testing purposes?

Yes, Project browser can allow multiple users to work on a single project provided that you plan it out properly. Keep your floor plans separate as background xrefs and insert them into your sheet files. One person can be working on the floor plan while others can be working on annotating the sheet views that use that background floor plan. You will still not be able to work on the same file.

Yes, using the Project Navigator you can have multiple people working on the same project.

You can't edit or work on the same drawing file if someone else is working with that file.

The Project Navigator will indicate when a file is in use by another user.

Thanks. Yes we will definitely be experimenting. I guess I was looking for either a "no you can't" ,"you can but it causes so many issues that you shouldn't bother" or "you can but watch out for these pitfalls"

The Project Navigator is a great tool.

It makes for easy navigating to your files rather than using windows explorer.

It  makes for easy plotting and publishing to different outputs.

If you are using it properly is it great for creating all kinds of schedules.

And the list goes on.....

It is Sheet Set Manager on steroids.

Nothing to fear. As noted by others, project navigator is a great tool to us for projects: The description "...It is Sheet Set Manager on steroids...." pretty much nails it.
