Recommendations when having multiple building in a project

Hello everybody,
Each of our projects include multiple industrial buildings and installations.
In principle there is a general layout that uses global coordinates and could include multiple constructs e.g. topographic plan, external networks etc.
There are also buildings, each having its own coordination system. Each building includes multiple constructs also.
I want to use Autocad Architecture (MEP) as the basic cad tool.
I am planing to use one architecture project. The project will include multiple divisions, the first for the general layout plus one for each building. The project will have multiple elevations each corresponding to the absolute level of each building floor.
Concerning constructs I will include one category for the layout and one for each building, plus multiple sub-categories according to the design needs.
Same approach in the Views. I will include at least one view sub-category named "references" where I will have views with all required constructs for each building. In order to show the buildings in the general layout I will xref (overlay) each of those reference views in the general layout view and manually move the buildings' views in the correct global coordinates.
Do you have any recommendations? Do I miss some functionality? Do you see anything that will cause me troubles in the future? Do you know of any tutorials, articles etc on the handling of similar projects.
Thanks in advance
