program does not respond to any command

My screen froze up in the middle of working on a project.  I figured I've seen this happen before.  It took five minutes for it to unfreeze.  Then it happened again about 10 minutes later and never unfroze.  I went to the task manager and quit AutoCad.

It closed down.  Once I opened the program up again, I could only get as far as the initial landing page.  The program did not respond to any mouse commands.  I couldn't open a file.

I also tried a back door approach and went to an email with DWG file.  I opened it up.  Once opened, the file didn't respond to anything and somehow went back to the inital landing page.

I need help.  I have a pressing deadline.

Did you reboot your computer?

How long has it been since you've cleared your temp files? (I use CCleaner)

If neither works, try repair or reinstall of the software.  This takes just a few minutes.

I wouldn't ever recommend opening a DWG directly from an email. Download it first and save it to a folder. Then open it from that.
