No drawing in model space

My drawing appears in all my viewport tabs. But when I go to model space, there is nothing there. I typed zoom/e and still could not find the drawings. Any suggestions?

Your drawing does not exist in modelspace: just in the layouts.

That's easy to discover by just selecting the content: if you find that to no be the case then share your DWG file here for someone to review it for you.

Thanks for your answer, but I don’t think I did it that way. This is the drawing. I drew everything in model space and then did the viewport tabs for each part of the project. I cannot find anything in model space now.

If you open and unlock the viewport then do a zoom-extents does the drawing disappear?  It may be possible that there is something in your drawing so far away from your subject drawing that it's zoomed too far out to read.  It's happened to me.

If you meant to include a DWG file with your reply, you'll need to come to the website o do that: replies to emails filter out attachments and embedded content (spam protection is quite aggressive and for good reason).

I don't understand. I should unlock the viewport? The problem is in model space, not the viewport.

How do I attach the drawing here for someone to examine it?

If you open the viewport, you can work on whatever is in model space.  If you unlock that viewport you will be able to change the zoom ratio then zooming to extents will give you the same view as when you are in modelspace.  If your drawing disappears at that time, it will be an indicator that your problem is as I suggested - there is something out in space that is causing your drawing to be too small to see.

And if it is “out in space” can I bring it in?

There may be an easier way but this is how I would do it.

-Restore your viewport back to the way it was (UNDO several times until you get there)

-With the viewport active, type ID and pick anything in the drawing.  Write down the coordinates displayed.

-Go to your model and, while zoomed to extents, draw a circle with the center at the coordinates and just large enough to see it on your screen..  Now you know where your drawing is in modelspace.

-make sure all layers are unfrozen and unlocked then zoom out a little more and ERASE everything  from the edge of the circle to the edge of your screen.

ZOOM EXTENTS and you should be zoomed in to the extents of the circle.

The few times I have had the same problem, this procedure has worked for me.

You seem to be struggling with AutoCAD. Perhaps this can help

this sounded brilliant, but it didn't work for me. I am attaching the file here. Maybe you can find the drawing in model space for me?? I would really appreciate it.

I found 4-5 items in model space that were causing the problem.  I had to go through the process I described a 3 of times, stepping closer in each time,  but did manage to clean it up.

Zoom Extents, then CTRL+A to select everything on screen.

Now you can use ZOOM command's OBJECT option to find out what each of these dots are yourself, decide why it is that far away from everything else, then delete or move it

I'm so sorry I did not reply sooner. My back went out and I couldn't get to the computer. Thank you sooo much for doing this for me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!
