My AutoCAD 2021 only allows me to save as 2018 or older.  Any ideas why this is?

2018 is the current file format.  The file formats don't change with the program upgrades.

I assumed it would save as 2021 like MY Autocad Mechanical,  Any ideas why I get this when trying to section?

I hit section then it says this the goes to Mtext.

"Command: _viewsection
Unable to perform the requested action. This drawing was last edited with model documentation in a newer version of AutoCAD.
Command: _t MTEXT"

I assumed I need to save as 2021 but I guess not.

Plain AutoCAD, AutoCADARCH and AutoCADMEP are not tied to year versions for content. Other verticals like MECH are different.

Is the file you are trying to edit from MECH or another vertical?

I figured it out. I had a bad view. Replaced the view and section worked.   Thanks to you both for confirming the 2018 - 2021 file save.
