Model space colors missing?

Wondering if someone can help me with this.

No color shows in model space.

I had the same problem in AutoCAD 2015 and decided to upgrade to 2016 to see if it would work any better.  Now some text does show up as gray, but everything else is white.  The problem gets solved if I change the view from "2D Wireframe" to "Wireframe," but then the system really slows down.  Wondering if there is any other fix, other than changing the view?

Welcome to this forum.

This is the Autocad Architecture forum, not the Autocad forum.

Are you viewing your drawing in model space or paper space.

Are you viewing your drawing in 3d?

What are these objects in your DWG file?
How are "colors" assigned?
Do you need to turn off hardware acceleration to help with your system slowdown? GRAPHICSCONFIG command in 2015/16/17 can do that.

Are you talking about being on the "Model tab" (all model space, all the time), or are you talking about objects in Model Space, viewed through a viewport on a "Layout tab"?

If the latter is the case, then most likely you have enabled the display of plot styles in your layout, and the assigned plot style file (STB or CTB) assigns Black, halftoned Black or Gray to all of the plot styles that affect the visible objects.  Edit your page setup and clear the check mark from the Display plot styles toggle.  [PAGESETUP command, select currently active page setup and then select the Modify button to get to the Page Setup dialog where you can make the change.  Or, you can use the Plot command, just make sure to save the change back to the layout.]

Sorry for the delay in responding.

1.  The condition is still unresolved.

2.  When working in model space (not in paper space through a viewport), all my line colors are white,

even though when I move my cursor over a line, it identifies a color other than white.

3. I did turn off the hardware accelorator as somone suggested, but nothing changed.

4. When I move to paper space, all the colors show up.

5. This happens in some files and not in others.  But once a file changes to "no color," the only way to

get the colors back is to change the view to "wireframe."  But again, this slows down the computer.

Thanks,

EB

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for your response. I'm sorry to hear this is still occurring for you.

Could you post a sample drawing where the issue occurs, so that we can test it?

Could you record a Screencast of the issue as it happens and post it here in the thread?

Yes.

Attached is a sample file.

Let me know what you think.

It is an xref file for a building foundation.

Thanks,

EB

Post #4 answered the problem, scroll back up and read it http://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-architecture-general/model-space-colors-missing/m-p/6266668#M5...

Here is your file back with those instructions implemented in it.
