Material texture not shown when applied

I'm applying the Concrete Blocks material to a wall. My expectation is that the Realistic preview, as well as Render, will show the actual concrete blocks on the wall. Instead what happens is the wall changed its color to Grey, and that's it. There is no texture. How do I get the actual texture to show?

I do not have a Walls pallette like you do in your screenshot. Mine looks like this:

That is from the US Imperial content.  Your palette looks like it may be from the Global content.  Do you have any other content installed?

Even if you do not, do you have a CMU Material, that has a render material assigned to it that looks like CMU?  If so, and you have assigned that material to your Wall, the other thing to check is that you are displaying the visible Wall Component with the CMU material "ByMaterial" in the active Display Representation for Walls.

I do have US Metric installed too but no idea how to actually bring it to life. Furthermore, I don't know what CMU is and I don't seem to have anything related to that. My set of actions in order to apply a concrete block to a wall is, simply, to select a wall, select the material, and choose Attach to Object. That's it. My expectation is that the material will be applied and displayed immediately.

As far as wall styles go, I have only one style called Standard and when opening its Medium Detail settings, it looks like this:

CMU= Concrete Masonry Unit, or concrete block.

Materials are assigned to AutoCAD Architecture objects in a different manner than AutoCAD 3D solids.  Material Definitions are used to define how an object or a component appears, including display system linework/hatching and render material.  The Standard Wall Style has just one component, assigned the Standard Material Definition, which uses the General Chip render material, which is a gray material.

If you have the US Metric content installed, then you have access to additional out-of-the-box Wall Styles and Material Definitions, including Wall Styles for concrete block Walls similar to the one in the image I posted.

I do not have access to AutoCAD Architecture at the moment, but if no one else jumps in with specific details, I will provide them in a day or so, when I can do so without relying on memory.

If you installed content to the default folders, you should find the source files for US Metric content here:

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ACA 20xx\enu\Styles\Metric

Substitute the release year of the version you are using for 20xx.

If you open the Options dialog, and go to the Profiles tab, do you have an AutoCAD Architecture (US Metric) profile?  If so, set that current.  Select the OK button to return to the drawing.  You should get the US Metric tool palettes, which will have more palettes and more tools.  If the Design tool palette group is not current, right click on the tool palette title spine and choose Design on the context menu.

Then choose the Walls palette.  You should see the options shown in the image below, along with a More Wall Tools tool that will open the Content Browser to the Walls category, which will have a tool for each Wall Style in the source file.  CMU-190 should give you similar results to what I showed in my post above (from the Imperial content).

You can also access the out-of-the-box source files from the Style Manager (Manage ribbon tab > Style & Display panel > Style Manager tool; use the Open command to open the desired source file(s), from which you can drag and drop onto the current drawing in the Style Manager) or through the Styles Browser.  For the AutoCAD Architecture (US Metric) profile, the out-of-the-box source files should already be in the Content Drawings Library, so the styles in them should be available in Styles Browser if the source is set to Content Library Drawings and the Drawing File is set to All Drawings.  Set Object Type to Wall to see the available Wall Styles.
