Lost the xref pallet / dialog box

I use 2013.  The xref pallet was docked but has disappeared.  Also, when I type 'xref' at the command line, the xref dialog box does not appear. How do I get them back?

I asked about using Windows 10, not Windows XP, which you show in your reply.  Not very helpful.

You misunderstand Dean's response.  He understands your computer has Windows 11 (original post) or 10 (second post).  He is noting that AutoCAD LT 2012 was developed for use with Windows XP to Windows 7, not Windows 10 or 11.  While it is often possible to get software to run on later operating systems, smooth sailing is not guaranteed.

The oldest AutoCAD I have running on Windows 10 currently is AutoCAD/AutoCAD Architecture/AutoCAD MEP 2017, although I know that I had the 2016 version running previously.  At work on Windows 11, I only go back to the 2018 version.  So I cannot speak directly to whether the 2012 version of AutoCAD LT will run on Windows 10/11.  You may get a broader audience with AutoCAD LT experience in the AutoCAD LT forum.  Dean does have extensive experience with LT.

Thank you for the response.  I retired several years ago & am not very tech literate.  I now only do drawings as an aid to some local kennel clubs by drawing the plans for their dog shows, which only happen in the Spring & Fall.  I do this all pro bono.  All of the latest versions of the program have a yearly subscription fee that is quite exorbitant for someone living on Social Security.

I was hoping that there was some way to restore the Xref Manager within my program so that I could continue and not need to "Rent" a new program.  An alternative was to purchase a newer version that does not have the yearly fee.  It would not need to be the 'latest & greatest' as the LT version I use has (or had) everything I need.

I appreciate all of your suggestions & am willing to try any other 'work-arounds' you could suggest.

Thanks again,

I had this same issue where XREF was not showing a window on my workspace even after following the recommended things above.  Somehow my window size for the external reference window was set to 0 height and 0 width.  So, I recommend checking those values as well as everything in this thread.
