If the EXPRESSTOOLS and EXPRESSMENU commands do not result in the Express Tools ribbon tab showing up in your current workspace, you may have to activate it manually:
- At the command line, type CUI and press the ENTER key.
- In the Customize User Interface dialog, on the Customize tab, with the upper left pane set to All Customization Files, scroll down in the list box if necessary and expand the Partial Customization Files node.
- Do you see a partial customization file called EXPRESS? If so, go to step 5.
- If not, use the Load Partial Customization File tool at the top (folder with green plus sign icon) and navigate to C:\Users\YOURUSERNAMEHERE\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\ACA 2020\enu\Support and select the acetmain.cuix file. Then click on the Open button.
- In the Customize User Interface dialog, Customize tab, upper left pane, under the ACA (main customization file - your name might vary if you have your own custom file with a different name) node, expand, if necessary, the Workspaces node and select the Workspace to which you want to add the Express Tools ribbon tab.
- In the upper right pane, expand the Ribbon Tabs node, and look for the Express Tools (Group: EXPRESS) item. If found (if you had to do Step 4, that may have added it to all Workspaces), select it and, in the lower right pane, verify that the Appearance:Show property is set to Yes. If so, you should be good to go, select the OK button and verify that the Express Tools ribbon tab is present.
- If not, in the upper right pane, select the Customize Workspace button. The items in the upper right pane will turn blue.
- In the upper left pane, expand the Partial Customization Files node, if necessary, and then expand the EXPRESS node under it.
- Under the EXPRESS node, expand the Ribbon node and the Tabs node under that. Select the toggle in front of the Express Tools node to put a check mark in it.
- The Express Tools (Group: EXPRESS) item should appear under the Ribbon Tabs node in the upper right pane (you will most likely need to re-expand it; it likely collapsed when the Customize Workspace button was selected).
- Select the Express Tools (Group: EXPRESS) item and verify that the Appearance:Show property is set to Yes in the lower right pane.
-
Select OK and verify that the Express Tools ribbon tab is visible.
