Leader Background

I created a leader with a True Color 255,255,255 (white) background.  It has always worked until recently.  Now the leader background is being displayed as black, but it prints white background.  in the two attachments, I copied a leader from a previous drawing and pasted the leader into a new drawing and it shows black.

Any thoughts on this?

Which version of AutoCAD Architecture are you using? Are you seeing this in ACA 2018?

Which version are you copying the multileader from?

And which visual style is set current?

Everything is within ACA 2016.  The visual style is 2D wireframe, the leader is being used in layout tab.  Something happened recently to my drawing template and I don't know what it is???  If I go to a drawing from last week where the leader background displays correctly and copy the leader back into my drawing template the true color is black.

Are you sure it's still 255,255,255 in the new drawing?
Is your layout set to display plot style tables, and using the wrong plot style?
Did you only test this in one file, not dozens of files new and old to confirm where the problem resides (vblock or files)?

All plot style tables are the same. the 255,255,255 masking still displays black in the template layout space and white in all other drawings. I tried changing the masking to a true color red for a test and it worked, it displayed red.  But for some reason 255,255,255 won't display white.

Could you post a copy of the template/drawing file where this is happening? This would be the quickest way for us to figure out exactly what's going on.

Hi @michaelcooley,

Thank you for posting your drawing for analysis. I see the same issue in your drawing, but only your drawing. I can create a new drawing with the same hatched block multileader style, and it display correctly.

Additionally, if I insert your drawing into a new template drawing (I used the Aec Model (Imperial Ctb).dwt template that ships with the program), the issue subsides.

To import the layout tabs, right-click on the default Work layout tab and choose From template..., then pick your DWG file and choose the layouts you want to import.

Could you try this and let me know if it works for you?

I did a QNEW and opened a new drawing file and then I imported the A-2 sheet from the original Template and the multileaders displayed correctly.  Also if I explode the multileader in the original template, the tag circle block masking displays correctly.

The tag circle 255,255,255 background mask in the template drawing was on 0-layer.  I created a Background Mask layer with 255,255,255 color and then changed the tag circle background mask to the Background Mask layer and the MLeader displays correctly now in layout.  I still don't know what went wrong with the original template...

I'm glad to hear you got it sorted. There might have been a bit of file corruption in the template that was causing the display issue with the background masks in your multileaders. Sometimes, repairing the file (or, in this case, inserting it into a fresh template) is all you can do.

What well for me with these mleader styles it that I set a specific color, in my case color 247 in the .ctb file that is set to 0% screening and a

plot width of 0.00 (zero)

In the block editor open the tag, apply a hatch and change the color to this non-plot color. Set draw order for the hatch and you're done.

No need to have a special layer.

Hello Everyone,

I was facing the same problem in a specific drawing, but I had a quick solution for it:

In my case, multileader was using a block called "_tagcircle", so I edited it and exclude the hatch!
