I am trying to designate an area on a drawing in a highlighter-like fashion, but am having some trouble. I tried using a thick polyline but I need to be able to see the walls and such underneath. Is there a way to make a polyline transparent, or is there another tool that can be used for this type of job? I know I could make a PDF and use those tools, but I'd like to know if there is a way to do it in AutoCAD itself. I've only been able to find some really old posts on the topic and they didn't help much.

I set the Transparency property of the Polyline shown in the image above to 60.
