INHERIT PROPERTIES IN AUTOCAD ARCHITCTURE

I used ArchiCAD for many years before switching to AutoCAD Architecture.  There is a command in ArchiCAD that allows one to select the properties of text, objects, etc., before using the command.  For example, if I have some text on my drawing, and I want to use the same properties in a new text line, I want to be able to choose those properties for the new text before writing it, as opposed to Match Properties, which requires me to write the text line and then go back and change the properties.  The same goes for lines, hatches, etc.  I would like to inherit the properties from an existing object in order to use on a new object.

Is there any way to do this?  Am I even making any sense with this question?

Does selecting the item with the properties, right-clicking, and choosing Add Selected from the context menu work for you?

It will only create the same type of object.  You cannot select a Circle and get its properties on a Line, for example.

That works!  So much easier than having to change it after the fact.

Thank you, guys.  I appreciate it.
