I generated the sections and elevations in same drawing file. but I want to get this in different dwg file. Also I want to regenerate sections and elevation in other dwg file. please go through attached jpeg image regarding regenerating section in other dwg file. I  just want to know how to create sections in other drawing file and how to regenerate the same.

Hi,

You can move the section/elevation within the project by using Details and Named Views tools.

See "To Annotate Drawings With Callouts"

When you create the sections or elevations you have the option to specify a new drawing file.

Look carefully at the prompts.

Are you using the Drawing Management feature (Project Browser/Project Navigator)?  The options to place the elevation or section in a different file are only active when your current drawing is part of an ACA Project.

What you appear to show is the regeneration dialog.  IMO, it is much easier to delete the section or elevation and then recreate it.  The creation dialog asks where you want to put it.  When deleting a section, you do need to deal with the broken links at the callouts and on the sheets though.

There is almost no reason to change things once they've been done.  There is nothing wrong with them being in the same file.

Hi,

@dbroad There is nothing wrong with them being in the same file.

If the section/elevation leave the same file the sheet will heavy.

3d model and light 2D section/elevation can be divided by selecting type Section/Elevation >>

see the difference >>  General >>
