How to generate a section / elevation without generating a bunch of layers?

Hi, I love that AutoCAD Architecture is able to generate a section or elevation based on the 3D Model I built from solids. However, every time it would also generate a bunch of layers that I don't need (ex: A-Elev-Line, A-Sect-Iden, just to name a few), how do I generate a section/elevation on just 1 single layer? Is there a way?

1. Run the PURGE command.  A large number of the layers that show up after placing a callout come in because they exist in the source file for the callout.  Subsequent uses of the same callout in the same file will not bring those layer in, because the callout content already exists in that drawing, so no importation from the source file is required.  Don't want to have to keep doing that?  Edit the source file and see if there are layers that can be purged.  Some may be specified for content and be non-purgeable.  Consider setting up your own source file, with just the content and layers you want, and set up tools to insert content from that file instead.
2. The IDEN layer is the layer on which the callout is placed.  The LINE layer is the layer that the elevation or section line is placed.  Have a different layer you want those on?  Edit your Layer Key Style and specify the desired layer(s) for the corresponding Layer Keys.  Get that Layer Key Style in your template files so that all files use it.
3. What 2D Section/Elevation Style(s) are you using for the elevations and sections?  Dig into the settings in that/those Style(s).  Look at the associated Display Settings, too.  Adjust any and all layer settings to get rid of layers you do not want.  Or, examine the 2D Section Elevation Styles that ship with the product and see if there are any that are closer to what you want and use those, or make a copy and edit it to get exactly what you want.  Then edit the properties of copies of the tools you use to place callouts and specify the Styles, Definitions and Layer Keys that support your workflow and desired layering.
