How to change the defult cleanup group and radius for differnet wall styles.

I just started working for a very small firm that hasn't done much with setting up templates and wall styles, etc. One thing that is driving me crazy is that the cleanup group definition for the different wall styles is set to default to Exterior Existing no matter which wall style is selected, so I have to change it every single time. I've never had to set up a wall style because everywhere else I've worked that was already set and correct. Also, the Cleanup Radius is always set at 1'-2" for every wall style, which is way to much. I have spent lots of time trying to figure out how to change these defaults but am having no luck.

I the attached screen shot I've circled the two things I'm talking about. As you can see in this case, I've selected to draw an Interior New wall but the cleanup group definition is always Exterior Existing. I want to make it so that when I select any new interior walls the clean up group default is Interior New. Same for other wall styles, if it is exterior new clean up group should be exterior new, exterior demo clean up group should be exterior demo... and so on. I don't want to have to change that every single time. I know it can be done because that's how it was at my previous job.

Same for the cleanup radius, I want to change it to default to 6" for every wall and will change when needed. But the radius set at 1'-2" is too much and having to change it every time is annoying.

Welcome to the community!

The global default values for those things will only change if you set them to something else when using the WALLADD command.

Did your previous places of employment use Tool Palette Tools to create Walls, with a tool for each Wall Style used?  Does your current place of employment do that?  In the properties of a Wall Tool, you can specify a Wall Cleanup Group Definition and set the initial Wall Cleanup Radius.  I assume that is how the previous places had the correct things set for each Wall Style.

Right-click on a Wall Tool and choose Properties from the context menu to get to the dialog above for a given Wall Tool.
