File conversion

How can I conver an old dwg in version 2007 to version 2012 using the Student version. I tried "CONVERT" but got a message not allowed in the student version. Thanks

If the 2007 file is a valid DWG file, you should be able to open it in 2012 and then save the file in 2010 format from 2012.  If you need to maintain the original file in 2007 format, then make a copy and back it up (or save the file in 2010 format under a different name),

 

You will not be able to go back from the 2010 format to the 2007 format, while maintaining fully-functional AEC objects.

Thank you for  your  reply.  I got the 2007 to open on 2012 but do not know where to go to save that resulting file to 2010.

Just save the file from ACA 2012.  The 2010, 2011 and 2012 releases all make use of the 2010 format.
