Exporting from Civil3d into Architecture

I am a surveyor and we have a client whose architect uses Autocad Architecture. I have trying exporting my drawing several ways, yet they report the dwg doesn't open correctly. One of the issues it that we use points and this is what they see:

I have taken all my unnecessary points out of the drawing, and the points using styles (tree, spot elevations, etc) have all been exploded into block, yet they still report they cannot read all the data.

Is there a workaround any of you Arch types have discovered to bring in a Civil drawing?

Also, why can't Autodesk make their programs read each other or simply provide a conversion format that works in all their products?

Read this, how to export from C3D to DWG everyone else can use https://help.autodesk.com/view/CIV3D/2023/ENU/?guid=GUID-61D485EE-F82B-464F-AC54-E4B56445134C#:~:tex...

More info for C3D users to share with non-C3D users can be found in the dedicated C3D forums over here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d/ct-p/4003

If you wish to let Autodesk know whatever is on your mind about the process, please do so where they look for feedback from use end users, right here for C3D users https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-ideas/idb-p/31
And here for all other "AutoCAD" versions https://www.autodesk.com/company/contact-us/product-feedback

That's the theory - use EXPORTCIVILDRAWING. The other drafter has reported it didn't work.

"didn't work" means nothing here sadly. I recommend you ask your fellow C3D users in the C3D forum over here for guidance, you might need to do way more to share DWG files with non-C3D users

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/civil-3d-forum/bd-p/66

And remember, if you use 3rd party add-ons in C3D to create the objects you are trying to share, you'll need to get in touch with that developer on how to share their proprietary object types with those that do not have that same add-on.

By default, any and all of your AutoCAD recipients need to have PROXYSHOW and PROXYGRAPHICS variables turned on and it will probably help if they also have the C3D Object Enabler installed too.

And if by chance you are trying to knock down a DWG version from yours to a lower format (say trying to cater to an AutoCAD 2017-2013-2010-2004-2000-0014 user, or any number in between those) then you might want to mention that in your C3D forum post too.

Is this about points only?  See if your ACA user has an object enabler installed OR ObjectARX Application settings similar to below.  That should resolve the issue with the boxes at points.

Optionally and hopefully without drawing to much wrath from C3d users, you can select your points in C3d/select cogo point tools panel/create blocks from cogo points (_AeccConvertPointsToSdskPoints). Make sure your point style has points at elevation and not flattened or your point elevations will read 0000.00.  That should resolve your point issue as far as ACA is concerned.

Etransmit with file format set to Exploded AEC objects can be used as an alternative to  _EXPORTC3DDRAWING unless your user wants 3dpolys from feature lines.  The 3dpolys could be used for modeling purposes.  Maybe a sweep or extrusion path for a street curb and gutter and walk on a sloped and curved road. You could also extract solids from your surface which gives them an acurate surface model with thickness (maybe 1' foot thk) rather than contours to drape.

Hope that helps.
