Dynamic Tag Block Not Working

Dynamic Tag Block Not Working

Hello all!

So I've made a very, very basic dynamic block for interior elevation call out blocks - and I can't seem to get the visibility of the attributes to work! So frustrating! Can someone please help me figure out why the visibility sets just are not working?

I've attached the file so that you anyone can download it and play along. If someone can fix it, that would be wonderful! But I also want to know how it got fixed.

Thanks so much!

Hello @Anonymous.

This newsgroup isn't for dynamic blocks but, to answer your question, the reason why your block isn't working is that you are using the same tag for 4 attributes. Each attribute definition in the block must have a unique tag name.

The real question is, why aren't you using AutoCAD Architecutre callouts for interior elevations (mvblocks linked to the project navigator, views and sheets).

Your block, in it's current state, for example, cannot be used for more than one elevation per insertion, whereas, you should be able to display any combination of 4 views with a single sheet or group number. If you're only going to use a single view per insertion, put both the drawing and the sheet number in the middle and add a rotation parameter for the arrow rather than visibility.

Thank you so much! That was incredibly helpful. My apologize for posting in
the wrong category - I thought I was under the general ACA forum.

My firm has stylized blocks, text and other miscellaneous items that
currently are all just live lines and text (feel free to scream with me ha)
as they use AutoCAD LT instead of ACA. I am turning their live lines and
text (not even MTEXT 😵) into workable blocks for ease of use with the new
tool palettes I'm setting up.

Thanks again for the help!!

No problem. Thanks for the solution credit.  ACA is a vertical application that has a lot of features that are not available in AutoCAD. If you want to get great assistance with your dynamic blocks, then there is a dynamic block forum under the main AutoCAD forum. Fewer people use the ACA forum and so it may take longer to get help.
