Drawing visible only in paper space - not model space

I have received a drawing and can see the content in paperspace. When I change to model space it is only a small dot and I cannot zoom in either by scrolling or picking a window to zoom in. Any ideas?

I'm not sure you're using the terms as intended.  I am assuming that when you say model space, you mean model tab.

There are at least two possible reasons for your difficulties.

1)All the drawing content is in paper space itself.  This is unlikely but possible.  You would have to use pagesetup to gauge how large paper space is and the size of the objects in paper space to see if they had been scaled down to fit. If this is the case, you could cut and paste from paper to model space and scale so that model objects are full size.

2)You have content spread over a vast area in model space such that the size of each model assembly or building is extremely small relative to how spread out it is. Think of 2 chairs drawn: 1 in California, the other in London, England.  In this case, you would need to move things closer together.

Post a drawing.

Have you tried clicking on the "small dot" in model space to make sure that's actually the content you've seen in paperspace. It could literally just be a dot in space, and if so no amount of zooming will make it appear to grow any bigger on-screen.

If it *is* the content you saw in paperspace, first do a zoom extents. If all you see is still a dot somewhere along the edges of your screen, there must be another "dot" (or content of some type) somewhere else on the screen. Either way, try using zoom-center on the "small dot" and typing in a large number for the zoom factor, see if that gets you anywhere.

If that doesn't help, go back into paperspace, double-click "through" the viewport, unlock the viewport, and draw a line at a random angle from an osnapped point on the content you see there. Scroll out (middle mouse button) and continue drawing the line until all you can see in the viewport is your line and a small dot at the end of it. Then flip back to model space and look for your newly drawn line.
