Door Pulls part 2

One other thing...

The custom block of the door pull doesn't show up in the material assignment tab. Also, in the display properties, the custom block's material check box is grey'd out so I can't assign a material to it. How to rectify that?

Thanks!

I'm not sure whether you really want to add door hardware to your door styles anyway.  It makes your elevations, sections, and renderings more accurate but schedules are probably a more efficient way to integrate that information into your project. As for materials, it depends on how you want to manage them.

Issues:

1. Multiple finishes for the same door hardware would require separate blocks.

2. Whether you want to use render materials or AEC materials.  AEC materials include hatch patterns which you don't need.

3. How you want to create the 3d objects (3d solids or mass-elements).  Mass elements support AEC materials but 3D solids do not.

If the same door type would have 2 different finishes for the same hardware, you would need 2 different door styles.
