dimensions default as aligned instead of linear(rotated)

Not applicable

hi. im using autocad ver 2018 where the default dimension was linear (rotated) dimensions, and I really preferred that where I can easily stretch the dimension extension lines without disturbing the alignment (orientation) of dimensions, but somehow the default dimensions changed from linear rotated to linear aligned dimensions. wish anyone can help me in reverting this back.  Its really minor but a bit of an inconvenience. thanks in advance to anyone who can help

I believe the default depends on the orthomode setting.  Can you confirm?

You're welcome.  Remember also that you can just press the shift key to activate orthomode while dragging the dimensions.  Also that even when orthomode is off, the dragging direction to locate the dimension line affects whether the dimension will be linear or aligned.  So orthomode off is the most flexible if you will be mixing aligned and linear dimensions.
