If I wanted to quickly sketch something in autocad using a digitizer, is this possible?  The sketch command isn't exactly user friendly with a mouse. But if I got a digitizer could I use it to sketch?

Is Wacom what I'm needing?  What I do I need to get started?

You can use anything you want that has a Windows driver, aka a mouse-replacement that is shaped like a pen instead of a mouse. Explore online here

Warning though: this is not "sketching" as you would use in software packages deigned from the outset to actually sketch freehand all day long.

It's been a minute or two since I used it last but it worked on an old calcomp 30x42 digitizer in 2018 and I used it on a Wacom (With trouble, back then the pressure stuff for freehand was a bit of a problem for acad.) years before that. I see no reason you can't setup scales (this point and this point=28') or even the whole digitizer template if you wanted.

Tablet is the command your looking for. It only works if you have the digitizer installed before you type it.

Found it.
