Dell XPS 13 is suitable for Autocad?

Hello!

I am looking to purchase a new Dell XPS 13. I am between those two:

--> XPS 13 13.3" QHD+ (3200 x 1800), (i7-6556u), 16gb RAM, 2.2GHz Processor, Intel Iris 540 Graphics

-->  XPS 13 13.3" QHD+ (3200 x 1800), (i7-7500u), 16gb RAM, up to 3.5GHz Processor, Intel HD 620 Graphics.

I don't know if the iris graphics and even more hd graphics are suitable to work on autocad 2016. I know that iris is a bit better that hd graphics but still I have no idea if it's suitable for autocad work.

I am electrical engineer, I do not do design. I am site manager in solar parks and all I need is just to read the drawings on Autocad and to work with polylines to count distances.

I don't go for the heavier and bigger xps 15 that has far better graphics, because i travel a lot and everyday I have to change places with my laptop.

So, do I have any problems with any of those two laptops for that kind of work on Autocad?

Thank you very much!!

I don't think Hi-res monitors  work with 2016 ACA and before. The text will be all jumbled in the ribbons. You'd have to run the screen at 1920x 1080. ACA 2017 has a hot fix patch that lets you use hi-res monitors.

Thank you very much for this information I really didn't have any idea for that!

But even I use ACA 2017, are those 2 intel graphic versions (iris 540 and hd 620)  suitable to run the program with a proper flow?

At least for 2D graphic drawings..

Thank you in advance!!

You will also hate squinting to see anything on a 13.3" display, even at the lower HD displayres old ACA2016 requires.

The graphics are generic, good enough for most.

Even though I use the 2018 version there are some glitches in taskbars and letter sizes. And also the icon sizes are too small which are tough to see from naked eyes. Please help me out

You need to install the latest 2018 updates, or move to the 2020 version of autocad.

Your display text scaling in WIndows needs to be set to 100% (or 125%) and no more.
