Dashed lines in different Drawing scale and after using "Export Layout to Model"

1. When I display a drawing in different viewports with different scales (i.e. 1:50 and 1:100) I get totally different dashed lines scale display, The dashed line is smaller in 1:100 than in 1:50 (I use the HIDDEN2 Line Type)

2. When I use the "Export Layout to Model" to export a layout with several viewports to a model ,same lines are displayed with a very big (large scale) dashed line.

Thanks for your help

When you EXPORTLAYOUT you create a modelspace DWG file, in modelspace there is only one linetype scale in effect in modelspace.

That's just how it works.

For Item 1, set PSLTSCALE to 1 if you want the viewport magnification factor to be applied to linetypes  (that will make the plotted lengths of dashes and spaces the same, no matter what the scale of the viewport may be).

2019-11-26_MEP2020_PSLTSCALE_1_SameLine_DifferentScalesInViewport_SameDashSize.pngIn the image above, the same line (HIDDEN2 linetype) is shown in two different viewports; the top at 1:50 and the bottom at 1:100.  PSLTSCALE is set to 1, so the dash size is the same in both.

Thanks David for your answer,

There is a big difference in dashed lines scale (size) between the model space compare to same element when is displaced in a Viewport (as suggested I use PSLTSCALE=1 and also LTSCALE=1).

In model space, the lines and spaces in same dashed line are much smaller. Can this be controlled?

If you set MSLTSCALE to 1, AutoCAD will scale linetypes when the Model tab is active based on the scale factor of the current annotation scale.  That would allow you to set LTSCALE to the value you use on Layout tabs and get the same dash size, for a given annotation scale, that you would get in a Layout viewport of that same scale.

Otherwise, you will need to change the value of LTSCALE when the Model tab is active, to get the same effect for a given scale, and then change it to the value for a scale of 1:1 when setting a Layout active.  Setting MSLTSCALE to 1 is the way I have worked since that feature was introduced.

Hello David,

I have all LTSLACLE PSLTSCALE MSLTSCALE set to 1 and still dashed lines are much smaller in model tab.

Actually now, with all settings, the dashed lines in all viewports with all scales and also the result of Export Layout to Model looks OK - only issue is with the model tab

Thanks for your help

Is the annotation scale that is set on the Model tab the same as the viewport scale in the Layouts?

Hello David,

The annotation scale was not the same, I used the CANNOSCALE to change the Model tab to 1:100 as in the viewport and now the dashed lines look OK.
