Create View panel missing from layout ribbon AutoCAD 2017 32-bit version

I have tried creating a cross sectional view from a 2D plan on my AutoCAD 2017 32 bits system, but to no avail. When I turn on the layout tab, I don't see the create view panel in order to continue the process.
Can you please give me a step by step instructions on how to do it. Thank you.

Are you only using plain AutoCAD? This forum is for a specific variant of AutoCAD called Architecture, it is not a forum for people who happen to work in AEC.

Plain AutoCAD's forum, for all industries, is here https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/bd-p/706
Consider including your DWG file with your repost so others can actually see what you are trying to do.

Hi @Anonymous,

Welcome to the Autodesk Community, and thank you for posting your question here in the AutoCAD Architecture forum!

Are you trying to use the Model Documentation tools on 2D geometry? These are tools that require a 3D model.

If you're working in AutoCAD LT, they won't show up. Could you verify which version of AutoCAD you're using? (Architecture, LT, which year, etc.)

If you could clarify what you're trying to achieve, and post a sample drawing here for us to see, we'll be happy help you sort this out.

If you are running AutoCAD Architecture as AutoCAD Architecture, with the ACA.cuix as the main customization file, you will not have a Layout tab, as the ACA.cuix does not have a Layout tab.  You can find some (but not all) of those tools on the View tab, on the Viewports panel.  Most if not all of the commands run by the "missing" tools can be accessed by right clicking on the Layout tabs (if you display them) or on the Quick View Layout tool on the Application Status Bar.

The ACAD.cuix file used by plain AutoCAD does ship with AutoCAD Architecture, and is used if you run AutoCAD Architecture as AutoCAD.  It does have the Layout tab.  If you really want a Layout tab in AutoCAD Architecture, you can create one in the Customize User Interface dialog or use the Transfer tab of the Customize User Interface dialog to transfer the Layout tab from the ACAD.cuix to the ACA.cuix and then add that to your Workspace(s) as desired.
