copying from model to layout: some elements don't get copied

Hi

I'm trying to draw a title block. I did the drawing in the model sheet, and want to move this title block in the layout sheet.

When I select & copy the whole thing, that has fields, multi-line text elements, after pasting some of these text elements don't get copied in the layout and don't see why this should happen.

Has anyone had a similar thing happening? How can I avoid this from happening?
Best regards

Annotative text? text styles thaat are the wrong size (they are huge now and off screen, you need to zoom out to see them)?

If I may ask, why don't you save your titleblock for the project as its own DWG file then just XREF that titleblock into your project file(s) layout(s) instead? Its how almost all of us do it. Add any layout-specific fields in each layout after the fact.

OR if this is a one off need, or you like to have unique titleblocks in each and every layout, why not just draw in the layout tab ?

TIA

No, the text styles are perfectly fitting in the assigned space.

Because that's how I learned to do it after watching 2 or 3 video tutorials like this

and because I have never worked with XREFs before, I'll look into it thanks.

I tried to use an XREF as suggested in the previous reply and ....didn't really worked as expected.

I followed instructions as per this tutorial and everything seemed simple to replicate, only that the result was different.

Basically, once the file was referenced the actual title block is not scaled to the page size and is almost invisible (at least 1000 times smaller) while in the video the title block almost perfectly fits the size of the paper space (apart form not being centered).

I guess one possible answer is that the drawing I want to attach the XREF file to has meters as a drawing unit, while the  template file was drawn using mm. I can't think of any other reason. So the question is how can I have a match between the main drawing and the XREFerred file when their base drawing unites  are different or do I always have to do the adjustment by hand?

On the on the hand the initial problem remains, that is the mtext elements are not displayed at all again.

A titleblock is drawn at the size it will be printed at (in mm): letter, tabloid, A1, A0 for example.
A layout tab in AutoCAD is just that, the final paper print, in electronic format, and this is where you XREF your paper-sized drawn titleblock DWG file into, after you use PAGESETUP command in that layout to size your output paper.

Do you want to share your titleblock file here along with the drawing you xrefed it into so we can all see what you are working with and doing?
