Command Line - space bar Problem !

Hi,

we have a strage problem showing up here on Autocad Architecture 2014 on Windows 8:

We use the "space-bar" to confirm a command or shortcut. After start of AutoCAD everthing seems fine but suddenly a hit of the space bar is enterpreted as two hits:

Line <space>

Specify first point:
Specify first point:
Specify next point or [Undo]: [cursor ready for next point]

No chance to point the "first point". It is either 0,0,0 or the last coordinate.

Using the <Enter> button (or selecting an icon) is working as expected / normal but verry unhandy because on the right side of the keyboard.

We tryied different keyboards but this is not a hardware problem!

Thank you for any help!

Christian

As a test, change out your keyobard and try again.

also try running your hands along the keyboard and pressing every key a few times.

ive had a shift key (or alt, or cntrl key) get stuck before and cause problems.

but changing keyboards would verify the same thing.

We tested it on several Computers and Keyboards, even out of the box new keyboard, same.
The problem occurs after 60-120 minutes of work and restart of autocad helps for another 60+ minutes.

Hi Christian,

I did a little digging and found a similar thread in the AutoCAD forum from last year (AutoCAD 2013). I'm wondering if the solution may be the same. Here are the suggestions that seemed to work for other users:

-If the command line is not docked, try docking it. Does this help?

-Set the PICKFIRST system variable to <1>.

Here is the forum post I'm referencing, if you'd like to read through it: Using Spacebar As Enter.

I just add a Reply on the Use space bar as Enter with some kind of solution for this problem.

Hope helps.

Finally, docking the command line was the solution!

Thank you!
