What is the simplest way to change the plot size of a certain layout?

I do not need this size to be available in other drawings or layouts.

Be specific about your needs.

1.  Do you care that the plotted work would be scaleable when printed?  If, not, just fit plot everything.  If scale matters, then it depends on whether you want to plot the layout to multiple sheet sizes.  If maintaining two versions of a sheet, then you need two copies of the same layout and make adjustments.

currently I need to go through several steps, for each layout:

Page Setup Manager

Modify

Properties

Custom Paper Sizes

... and then you create a new plot size or change an existing one...

I wonder if there is a way to just simply specify the plot size for a certain layout without the need to go through so many steps.

Almost always, I use a different plot size for each layout.

"Almost always, I use a different plot size for each layout."

An architect just can't work that way.  This newsgroup is about AutoCAD Architecture. Architectural projects must be documented as many different views which are distributed in the field for construction as a single printed set.  Having different sized sheets bound together would be a mess.

That said, you should create a sheet template file with a layout for each size and plot setting you want to use regularly.  When creating a new layout, use "from template".  It doesn't make sense, however, to use the same layout for several sheet sizes.  Only one size will be to scale. Other sizes will end up not to scale.  This also doesn't make much sense as plots should generally be made to pdf, period.  Then, the PDF file could be print however it is needed to a physical printer, after being checked.

The pagesetup command is much more versatile than you understand.  See the image below:

I create plotter files with a fixed width but with length between 1-5 meters. The length depends on may inputs that can change the length for every project. I cannot create a setup for each centimeters between 1-5 meters.

So you're doing full size plots?  Either you save the plot setups or go through the tedious process of adding the sheet sizes as you go.  I'm not even sure you could have that many simultaneous custom plot sizes stored so without coding a solution, you're going to be stuck doing it manually.l
