Our company is being tasked more and more to create BIM building models. We have an AutoCAD 2D system that works well, and, in a nutshell, Revit is not ideal for our use.

AutoCAD Architecture may be just what we need. But the information on this program is thin.

Does AutoCAD Architecture 2025 create a BIM model that can be imported into the main Revit model while keeping its "System family" intelligence?

If so, is there a video or internet page I can refer to to understand how this task is done?

Thank you.

Ron

Not really: these are two very different programs, see a similar post from a couple of years ago, not much has changed

https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/revit-architecture-forum/convert-autocad-architecture-model-to-revit/...

BUT... do give it a try with your REVIT (or grab a trial version of REVIT to test) and your ACA DWG files to find out more.

In a word, no.

Revit cannot show AEC objects (Walls, Doors, etc.) in their native AutoCAD Architecture state.  You either have to turn on PROXYGRAPHICS or export a 3D view to AutoCAD and link that to Revit.  Either way, Revit will not see Walls, Doors, etc., let alone any intelligence present in AutoCAD Architecture.
