Hello everyone, I got my student version of AutoCAD Architecture today. It works fine except that i have a black bar flikcering at the bottom and it's driving me crazy...

I have found this problem on the AutoDesk website but all tips didn't heltp.

I also reinstalled it and it still is the same...

flickering? or moving up/down?
What "all tips" did you try please? We don't know you nd we cannot see what you've tried, sorry, we are all end users just like you around here.

The year-version of your ARCH software as listed in ABOUT command is...?
Your OS is...?

TIA

Do you mean the black bar below the command line box?  That's your windows task bar.  If it's being pushed off the screen and flickering it's most likely a hardware or widows system problem and not an AutoCAD issue.

So the black bar appears and disappears and pushes my model area up which makes it look like a stutter.

The tipps I used are here: https://www.autodesk.com/support/technical/article/caas/sfdcarticles/sfdcarticles/Drawing-window-fli...

It is Architecture 2024 and on Windows.

@daniel_stebbing98 @danielstebbo What are you calling "black bar" exactly

How about a fullscreen screenshot, program and all, and mark up exactly what is "flickering" or whatever it is you see please.

Capture a video of it in action would be better too, I assume you do have a smartphone, yes? If you don't have screen recording tools on your PC of course.

Thanks.

So I recorded it with my laptop and there the bar just stays there the whole time which is weird. So I recorded a video with my phone too.

So I found out if I turn off the Hardware boost it doesnt happen anymore. But the AutoCAD looks bad. I hope there is a different solution. I mean I didnt buy a expensive laptop to have to put AutoCAD in to low grafik settings...

Do you have this update installed yet?

If not, get it from your Autodesk Account Page here https://manage.autodesk.com/cep/#products-services/updates
Restart your PC afterwards.

If that did not help... Set GFXDX12 variable to 0 (that's a zero) then restart AutoCADARCH2024: reverting to DirectX11 fixes similar problems for most users.

If still no relief then start GRAPHICSCONFIG command and change the 2D Display Settings pulldown from "advanced mode" to one of the other choices

If all else fails, then turn off Hardware Acceleration as a last resort, and start a support ticket through your subscription portal as explained here

Thank you so much! Downlaoding the updates made the black bar stay there but not flicker any more and after setting it to directx11 it is completely gone!

Thanks!!!
