AutoCAD Architectures - Modifying Detail Component

I am using Autocad Architecture 2022. In the past, I could bring in a detail from the Detail Component Manager (ie Brick) into my drawing and then right click on the block and edit the block in place and change all layers, lines, colors, etc with the block and then save the block, all blocks would change. Now, I have to pull the block from the Detail Component Manager, copy and rename the block before I can edit in place. Is there a way that I don't have to take multiple steps to change a block. I get the error "Cannot REFEDIT Anonymous Block"

I can confirm that experience in AutoCAD Architecture 2022.0.1 (built on AutoCAD 2022.1.1), and it works just fine in 2021.  Something changed with REFEDIT; not sure why.  It is certainly inconvenient.  Many have reported this issue in the forums; we will have to wait to see if Autodesk will fix this in a future update.

This is definitely an issue, one that will make my decision to not upgrade the rest of our company to 2022.

Has anyone found a solution to this problem?

It still appears to be the case in AutoCAD Architecture 2022.0.1, built on AutoCAD 2022.1.2.  I can check at home later to see if it is still that way in 2023.

Yes.  For the record:

  • REFEDIT works on anonymous blocks in AutoCAD Architecture 2020.0.2, built on AutoCAD 2020.1.5.
  • REFEDIT works on anonymous blocks in AutoCAD Architecture 2021.0.1, built on AutoCAD 2021.1.2.
  • REFEDIT does not work on anonymous blocks in AutoCAD Architecture 2022.0.1, built on AutoCAD 2022.1.3 (just installed the AutoCAD update tonight at home - hoping that might fix things, but it did not).
  • REFEDIT works on anonymous blocks in AutoCAD Architecture 2023.0.1, built on AutoCAD 2021.1.1.

I believe those are the latest updates for each version, as of today.
