AutoCAD Architecture does not format 3D DWF properly.

Hello, we have found recent editions of AutoCAD Architecture 2020 through to 2024 are not exporting a complete DWG into 3D DWF or DWFx. Editions 2016 through to 2019 have exported DWG including att. materials into a 3D DWF, opening in DWF viewer 2018 and Autodesk Viewer, webpages.

However, those later editions do not:-

[a] export the att. materials properly

[b] open in Autodesk Viewer, but are modified in properties and orbit facility.

[c] fail to open in DWF Viewer 2018.

I don't see your DWF/DWFx file here, any reason you cannot share?

Perhaps this similar topic if of help https://forums.autodesk.com/t5/autocad-forum/dwg-export-to-3ddwf-surface-issues/td-p/9549388

BTW, the DWFViewer is a dead product line, Autodesk stopped developing it back in the year 2017 (6-years ago).

Hi Pendean,
Thank you for picking this up, initially [A] this relates to uploads with an on-line viewer (not [B] Design Review or other downloading install apps). we can pass on several DWF and DWFx in two groups,

[a] those produced from earlier edition AutoCAD Architecture - note also how these show up so differently in the on-line Autodesk Viewer (i.e. not 'Design Review' a DWF desktop viewer).
and
[b] those exported from later editions,2021 and 2024 - note these lose assigned materials replaced with apparently a background layer colour, often garish, not a material array.

Secondly [B] a downloading install of 'Design Review' does not open these later DWF outputs.  We note the later edition is 2017 or 18 though such is the contemporary one offered on Autodesk web pages. But please initially consider [A] first on its own.
With my regards, Colin D.

Hi Pendean,

These are some more produced from [b] later editions into both DWF/x    For those DWG editions can also be sent out for a check over too.

With my regards,  Colin.
