Adobe 3D PDF file format insert to AutoCAD Architecture 2017

I received an Adobe 3D PDF file format from one of our new clients.  Per the client's requirements, this is the only way that they can send out drawings for this particular project.  How do I insert an Adobe 3D PDF file format into AutoDesk Architecture 2017 so that I have full 3D capability of the structure assembly from the original 3D PDF file?  I have to route piping and electrical systems around the interior frame of the structure.

Thanks,

Rob

You don't: find out what it will take for your client to trust you enough with the DWG source file and get that (like maybe not trying to steal the PDF they sent you lol).

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting your question here in the community. @pendean is correct, although this would be a wonderful feature to enhance AutoCAD in the future.

Right now, as of 2017, you can extract some geometry from a PDF using the new PDFIMPORT feature, but even this functionality is very new to the program.

Your best bet is to get ahold of the original drawing files to work with.

Check if they can send it as a Navisworks NWD file.  Those can be referenced while retaining much of the security and information features of a 3D PDF.
