Hi,
I have a drawing that takes more than 3 minutes opening in 2016.
When i open the same drawing in 2013 it takes 5 seconds.
I have tested the same drawing in 2015, 2016 and 2017. All of them takes 3 min to open the file.
What has changed between 2013 and 2015?
What does it check extra and how do i disable it?
I have done an extensive -purge, checked layer filters, reset profiles, used admin account to open, most common posts i could find in all forums.
What am i missing?

Hendrik

Hi,
Thanks for the reply.
It is a series drawings we received from outside (MEP), so no most probably not. It has been created in a 2016 version of AutoCAD verticals.
But why is there such a massive time difference in opening the exact same file between 2013 and later versions?
We have 25 of these files that need to be xrefed into a project. Imagine the productivity on that project!
All software used to test the file are ACA (2013, 15, 16 and 17).
The file size is 1.8MB.
Any ideas?
Hendrik
Hi,
Found the problem.
They used the Angle hatch pattern as solid hatch. Deleted the hatch and the opening times is 3-5 sec in ACA 2016.
Systematically deleted batches of elements to see if i get an improvement. Then when i got there started analyzing whats was deleted. Then only deleted that in the original file and i had an uncle called Bob 🙂
This key plan is common to all the drawings received.
CAD Cowboys!
Is there a setting to override or improve this in the future?

Hendrik
