AA2015 - Handrail's Custom Block Material behaviour for sloped Handrail in Xref

Hello to everybody!

Who can tell me why this is so strange in Render (without a Render Material "steel")?

And in Conceptual visual Style too...

So, why AA forget Render Material for sloped Custom Block content in Xrefs??

Pay attention - in the "main" dwg "Stair" everything is OK.

And when it is XRefed into "Handrail Render Test" dwg - everything IS VERY VARY BAD...

: ((

...But I remember the situation when is was vice versa...

: (((

Hi @alexKoshman,

Thank you for posting your files for testing. I'm seeing the same results that you are in the XREF you provided, as well as when I XREF the Stair.dwg file into an out-of-the-box template: AEC Model (Imperial Stb).dwt.

However, when I create a new drawing from the ACAD.DWT template instead, then attach the Stair.dwg file to it as an XREF, everything renders correctly.

This likely has to do with one of the styles or display configuration already populated in your AEC template. You may be able to locate and replace or modify it in whichever template you use, provided you can narrow down which style or display configuration is causing the issue. The quicker way to address this may be to use the ACAD.DWT template to create a fresh drawing file and XREF the Stair.dwg file into that.

Please test this and let me know if it works for you.

Hello, Victoria! THANK YOU for "new hope"!!   ; ))

I will try to XRef files to DWG started from ACADISO.dwt (or ACAD.DWT).

And without a doubt I report the results!

Thank you again!..

...I never would try starting files from different templates - I would think it doesn't metter...

; ))

Sorry for my english...

Hi @alexKoshman,

Have you had a chance to test a different template? How did it work out?

Hello, Victoria!

It seems that you are right! It depends on Template we start the main drawing.

Results (the custom handrail's block color):

1. when start from "acadiso.dwt": BLACK in VP, BLACK in Render;

2. when start from "AEC Model (Metric ctb).dwt" or "AEC Sheet (Metric ctb).dwt" or "AEC Model (Global ctb).dwt": GREEN in VP, BLACK in Render;

3. etc

so I can't reproduce this problem now... ; ))

Thank you for the help again!

I hope it IS dependent from some dwg settings and thereafter from the starting Template... and is not the unpredictable bug...
