3D Solid section/elevation Extra Lines

I’m having trouble with creating 2D sections using the Vertical Section and Horizontal Section tools with drawing elements that are 3D Solids.

The section is being made but there are extra lines that are created (please see screenshot below). Is there a toggle or option that I can adjust so that the line work in bottom right window will look exactly like the top right window (without all the extra lines)?

Can someone please help? I can't go forward with my project until I figure this out. I'll give you my first born.

If you could upload a sample file, I'll take a look.

Thank you for sending the attachment.

It looks like this is probably a limitation of the section with AutoCAD 3D solids.

However, ACA has 'Mass Elements' which behave in a similar way to 3D solids. I'd recommend using Mass Elements over 3D solids when working in ACA especially for documentation purposes.

There is an option in ACA to convert 3D solids to Mass Elements. It works most of the time when the 3D solids aren't too complicated. You may want to do it one at a time to generate multiple mass elements and put them on corresponding layers. Please try the following:

1. Select the 3D solid > right-click and choose 'Convert to Mass Element' > you can choose to retain the 3D solid when prompted to delete or retain the 3D solid.

2. Turn off the layers of the 3D solid.

3. Regenerate the section.
