2D sections through Point Clouds

Good afternoon,

I’m trying to cut a 2D section in AutoCAD Architecture 2017 through a point cloud and solid modeled components. I used to be able to do this by using the section tool inside the tool pallet under the Annotation tab. When I use this I get everything but the point cloud information. Can anyone tell me what happened to this command or how we are supposed to accomplish this now? I have attached some screen shots of what I'm talking about hoping it will help build a visual.

Thank you for posting your question here in the community. Are you trying to cut a live section through both AEC objects and 3D solids, in addition to the point cloud?

The Building Section tool you're using (from the tool palette in ACA) only works on AEC objects for live sectioning, and you need to use the SECTIONPLANE command to get a live section through a point cloud. Here is an article that explains the process of using both tools together.
