2019 graphics card requirement

Published graphics card requirements for ACA 2019 include 29 GB/sec. of memory bandwidth.  NVidia's Quadro K600 specs are slightly sub-marginal at 28.51 GB/sec.  Will this crash the software, make it painfully slow, or what?

I am furbishing workstations for beginning architecture students, so I assume they will be near the lower end of demands placed on their graphics hardware.  These workstations will have eight CPU cores (actual, not virtual) and 16GB of RAM, if this compensates in any way.

Hi @Anonymous,

Thank you for posting in the AutoCAD Architecture forum! The NVIDIA Quadro K600 is considered a certified graphics card by Autodesk. Spec wise it should work for you fine, a few things that can help with performance is making sure to keep clean files, making sure the graphics card drivers are updated and if need be shutting off Hardware Acceleration within the program can help with lagging if any is experienced.

@Anonymous - an 8-core CPU is WAY overkill for ACA.  That will only come into play when rendering, which won't be a day-to-day activity (and possibly only a few class sessions).  You'd be better off with a quad- or hex-core CPU with a high clock speed; you might save some money in the bargain, or put the savings towards a Quadro P2000 or P4000 GPU if you are sourcing from a big-box supplier like Dell or HP.  If working from a mid-range supplier like BOXX have a look at mid-range GTX 1060 or 1070 GPUs.

Agreed, but we lucked out at a government surplus auction, at about $35 per box.  With a 650 watt power supply and a tower case, there is ample headroom to upgrade graphics cards. We are providing an option to substitute a Quadro 2000 instead, for $11 more.  Online used prices, obviously.  Anyhow, Revit is pretty slow, rendering with a basic desktop PC.

In earlier testing with SketchUp, we found the Quadro 600 to be the minimum for reasonably smooth and responsive manipulation.  The K600 is about 20% faster (per Passmark), and the 2000 nearly doubles the 600, so we're hoping students will be OK for a while.

These are community college students, mostly coming from the inner city, with limited means.

Ever since updating to Fusion 2019 release my screen intermittently lags as I move the model with my 3D Connexion space mouse.  I also got a warning right away that my graphics card may be insufficient for Fusion.  I have an NVidia Quadro 2200.  What graphics card is recommended?  What card won't become outdated in the next couple years?

Thanks, Steve

Perhaps you just need the correct driver https://knowledge.autodesk.com/certified-graphics-hardware

First thing I did was update the driver.  The newest is only a couple months old.  I still have the exact same screen lag.
