I want to KEEP nested xrefs

Hi all

I currently have some house master drawings split into the following:

1.A base plan with some common/repeatedelements and also some xrefs.

2.Individual "Facade" drawings which all reference the base plan.

I need to be able to have the user open a given "Facade" drawing and bind the base plan (using "insert" option) BUT I would like to be able to keep the nested xrefs. Is this possible? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I run AutoCAD 2010 on WIndows 7 professional.

Thanks

Alex

It doesn't work that way, sorry.

Why not XREF the other filess with or in another drawing and leave what you want the user to bind as a separate xref instead?

Thanks for your quick reply!

I had thought about doing that originally, but was hoping to save myself the hassle of having to insert all the xrefs in each facade file and just have it in the base plan (thought it might be tidier) but that's ok I'll just try it like you suggested.

Thanks again

Use ETRANSMIT to send the drawing with its xref as a zip file.
