selective directional stretch by selection box??? HOW???

I have some overly dense drawings I need to get to a larger size. Scale works but is not selective enough and I have not been able to get stretch to behave as I need it to, which is to stretch in a specified direction by selecting the stretch area and the proper direction. The drawings are cable schematics so cannot use crossing box or cpolygon...Any ideas???

Set "snapang" to the angle that you need then stretch in that direction.

After selecting the stretch window, AutoCAD prompts

"Specify base point or displacement:"

Keyin the distance>angle and press enter twice.

Example:

Command: stretch

Select objects to stretch by crossing-window or crossing-polygon...
Select objects: Specify opposite corner: 1 found

Select objects:

Specify base point or displacement: 3<225

Specify second point of displacement or :
But hey, that's just me.
