macros not working

I'm using AutoCad 2000 and I'm unable to create any macro.

For example, when I try command: ^C^C-insert blockname \;;;

I'm getting error message: Compile error, Syntax error.

I was happy with AutoCad14 - where I created many macros with no problem at all.

So what is wrong & how to fix it?

Please help.

Do you still have access to R14 on the same PC? I am thinking open both and copy the macros from one to the other. It could be the syntax had changed for some commands from one version to the other. You may have to test with minor changes. I always type it out on the command line so I can get the proper syntax, then put it in the macro and test it to whatever point I am at. I use F2 to see the command history in more detail, to try to figure out at which point the macro is going wrong, or if it's working correctly up to a point. Sometimes it's one too many or not enough carriage returns...;)
