Excel to AutoCad

We typically produce all of our tables and notes in AutoCad because we find it difficult to line things up in AutoCad if we produce them in Word or Excell and import them. Is there a way to import Excel Spreadsheets or Notes produced in Word or Word Pad and still keep some sort of formatting while being able to use a RomanS type font

In excel, copy the desired cells to the Windows
Clipboard. In AutoCAD use the Paste Special and then the % PRODUCT Entities
option, you will get AutoCAD objects with some formatting, sizing & spacing.
The font will be the one used in Excel but you can globally change this. You can
also just paste the cells in & have an OLE object that is linked. If you do
this, I would use a separate plot window in PS for each OLE object if you
paste into MS. I also believe there is a program available on dotsoft.com that
you can purchase to aid in linking Excel & AutoCAD.

We use Spanner for importing Excel files into AutoCAD because we couldn't keep the text sizes the same throughout our drawing. We do calculations in Excel, then insert them onto our drawing, so there were always several of them. Either the borders were moved slightly, the text sizes didn't match the others .... there was always *something. So .... get Spanner !!
