Shutter Issue In Arnold 5

Hello,

There is an issue relating to Shutter angles. The change is in Mtoa 2.0.1.0, the aiUseGlobalShutter checked on the motion_start value is -0.25 and motion_end 0.25. As a result the render produces artefacts. The previous default values were 0 and 1 which were more normal. Has this issue been brought up before and possibly addresses in the latest version.

Thanks

Joe

Hi, can you send us a scene showing the artefacts you mention ? the motion_start/motion_end should be -0.25/0.25 since this corresponds to the camera shutter settings (in the render camera, shutter_start/shutter_end should also have the same value).

Hello Sebastien,

I've uploaded the ass file with one camera set to aiUseGlobalShutter on and one off. It is default setting of shutter start 0 shutter end 1 and lenght 0.5.

Thanks

Joe

Sebastien, it turned out that the motion-blur mismatch was caused by motion_start and motion_end attributes. We were not even aware of these attributes when we were porting procedurals (no mention of them in the porting guide), but, somehow, the default values worked just fine in all our tests. We only started noticing problems in shots where a camera was tracking heavily motion-blurred characters.

Regards, Alex

We also confusing the motion blur with this setting, especially output motionvector aovs, we've follow the tutorial from the mtoa document, seems that center of frame have an issue that the motion is not matched to the viewport, why and how to fix it?
