This is a real Laser Scan inside Maya, with bifrost. Is a ply point coordinates XYZ, converted to nParticles
The original Laser scan has RGB and Scalar_field information. It would be great to import a laserscan .PLY Binary or laz, las, E57 pts and so on, with these information and use them for shading in an .ass file.
