Does anyone know if there's any kind of dedicated cloth shader out there for Arnold 5?
I've been spending a lot of time trying recently trying to get cloth looking right in Arnold, and it seems like it's certainly possible to hack together something with the standard_surface that gets you most of the way there, but not all the way. It appears like there's quite a bit more going on with cloth than a diffuse/specular reflection (similar to how hair requires a dedicated shader to look right).
I haven't been able to find much on the internet about this, especially in regards to Arnold. It appears like alShaders was supposed to contain an implementation of the Irawan shader at one point in time, but apparently there's some sort of sampling issues that never got fixed (plus it was written for Arnold 4.x). There's another implementation of the Irawan BSDF going around under the Thunderloom name (which apparently adds support for a WIF parser and a few other things), but given what I've read about the alShaders Irawan implementation, it doesn't sound like it would work that well even if someone ported it.
Is there anything else out there that will handle this sort of thing for A5?
