Hi Lee Giggs 🙂 i've tried to follow your tutorial on creating volume displacement in MToa but i can't get the detailed results published here :
https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFMUG/Polymesh+to+Volume

The workflow is not clear in my mind since the tutorial just covers the basics and not the details

Could you please explain in details the correct workflow to get these nice results ?

What details are missing? Did you try the scene file? Can you share your results?

@Lee Griggs ,
I've used an arnold volume ( smoke vdb ) and i've connected a displacement map to the ai range and i've bumped the out max to 8, next i've connected the ai range to the displacement slot of the volume shader and i've assigned the same volume shader to a character head and i've set it's stepsize to 0.1 and volume padding to 0.05 and also the density of the volume shader to 20 .

I think i cannot get the desired effect without using the camera projection but how to connect it ?

That looks correct. Connect the camera projection to the Range shader. Check the node editor at the bottom of the page or the attached scene file.
